One of the important amendments of this Circular is that History becomes one of the mandatory subjects instead of optional subjects of the group of social science subjects under the earlier regulations.

In addition, according to the new regulations, optional subjects include Geography, Economy and law, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Computer, Music education, Fine arts education. Students shall select 4 subjects among the optional subjects.

Regarding teaching duration, each day consists of 1 period, each period consists no more than 5 sessions. However, capable high schools are encouraged to organize 2 periods/day in accordance with guidance of Ministry of Education and Training.

This Circular takes effect from August 3rd, 2022.
