Official letter No. 1850/HQTPHCM-GSQL dated July 26th, 2022 of the Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh city regarding declaration of CAS code

According to Annex V issued together with Decree No. 113/2017/ND-CP , upon declaration of list of chemicals, enterprises have to declare these information criteria: chemical’s name in Vietnamese, English name, HS code, CAS number, chemical formula.

Accordingly, CAS code is the required information to be declared upon declaration of list of imported chemicals.

In addition, it is required to note that although some products are not chemicals, they must be declared according to the regulations provided for chemicals, including pharmaceuticals; germicidal and insecticidal preparations; cosmetics; foods, fertilizers; radioactive substances; building materials, gasoline, etc. .... (clause 11 Article 1 of Decree No. 113/2017/ND-CP (amended at clause 1 Article 8 of Decree No. 17/2020/ND-CP ).
