Official letter No. 1354/GSQL-QG4 dated August 24th, 2023 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs regarding proof of origin within the European - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA)

The General Department of Vietnam Customs affirms that according to the announcement of the EU Customs Authority, customs authorities may look up information about an exporter (such as company name, address, manufacturing company or trading company), list of goods, in case the exporter agrees to popularize the information on the EU's website. Accordingly, in some cases, there are only information about REX number, validity period of the published REX number and the list of goods (if any) that are reference information.

As the result, if there is no doubt about goods origin, the exporter having REX number of origin certification for goods that is not included in this list is not the reason to reject the proof of origin.
