In response to proposal of the Ministry of Finance regarding policy to support the domestic automobile manufacturing industry, the Ministry of Industry and Trade assumes that it is required to promulgate regulations on reduction in registration fees with regard to domestically manufactured automobiles in 2023 in order to encourage consumers to buy automobiles, to help enterprises to recover from the recession. The policy on reduction in registration fees may be considered applying until the end of 2023.
Regarding policy on deferral of excise tax on domestically manufactured and assembled automobiles as proposed by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade advocates the proposal of the Ministry of Finance on the plan to defer excise tax on domestically manufactured and assembled automobiles for June, July, August, September 2023 and requests the Ministry of Finance to also consider deferring excise tax for October 2023.
